Shoulder – Sanctified Bloodmage Shoulderpads
Back – Frostbinder’s Shredded Cape
Chest – Sanctified Bloodmage Robe
Wrist – The Lady’s Brittle Bracers
Hand – Sanctified Bloodmage Gloves
Waist – Crushing Coldwraith Belt
Legs – Leggings of Woven Death
Feet – Plague Scientist’s Boots
Ring1 – Ashen Band of Endless Destruction
Ring2 – Ring of Rapid Ascent
Trinket1 – Dislodged Foreign Object
Trinket2 – Reign of the Dead

Range – Corpse-Impaling Spike
I have also done the stats and sokets you will get from that gear; please note that hit cap is only reached as arcane with EP, AF and misery or imp ff; also the items don’t have any enchant or gems on them.

Note that this is a list only with items from Icecrown Citadel normal mode or below (didn’t included Anub’arak HM loot – trinket/back since it has a higher difficulty to get), and i will also do this for more classes in the next days.

I’ll take Muradin’s Spyglass over Dislodged Foreign Object any day. 1061 is a bit much on haste.
Friday 18, 2009
^False. L2ManaManagement. I’m currently @1014 haste and it’s that great w/o the crafted legs yet. + with or without the Dislodged Foreign Object, mages WILL reach around 1100+ haste. It will depend on your rotation. Go boom or go oom.

No spirit on our gear ruin the ****** molten armor T_T we depend of raid buff to make it wort T_T

Doesnt the 2 piece tier 10 set offer 12% haste? Isnt that based on the haste that a mage has? If so – then 1K + haste is awesome!
Friday 18, 2009
No its 12% haste not 12% haste rating, that means you will cast 12% faster, eg: you have 2.5 sec cast and the 2p set bonus and 0 haste, on proc u will cast with 2.2.
Friday 18, 2009
Haste rating will still not come near the cap even with icy veins. Icy veins + lust + 12% however will hit the cap with over 800ish haste
Friday 18, 2009
Dislodged Foreign Object is beast.
to bad it never drops in my guild and i dont have the pr on it. hah
Friday 18, 2009
825 Haste rating is a must, more then that is expendable.
Friday 18, 2009
i have dislodged foreign object, and pretty sure the icd on it is 45 sec. it does the job well, but i still don’t reach 1000 haste, but i have 2300+ sp un-buffed. should i regem for more reckless if possible?
Friday 18, 2009
ok all of you what the site says is true with everything the idiot saying DFO is bad is a fucking idiot is it best in slot you fucktard get the heroic mode of DFO and heroic ROD and you will rock shit with the trinkets and as for haste you want 1k+ haste so that you can actually keep consistant damage and not be a 1 hitter quiter mage that needs innervate or other shit. just dont ever say DFO is bad you idiot

how is Reign better then Muradin’s Spyglass.. The Spyglass has 30 more sp and 131 crit.. the extra crits should do more damage then the proc on Reign.. or am i wrong? and the ramp up time is doesn’t take long at all, and stays up if you’re good? + molten armor hits proc it too.. What am I not realizing to make Reign better? =/
Friday 18, 2009
I agree on almost most of these points.. personally i pref muradin’s spyglass (wich i have) and the haste cap could be a bit less.. atm my haste cap is a tad to low so im gonna resocket some of my SP gems into haste

As of patch 3.0+
OK so I will explain how haste works. 100% (3300) haste will remove a total of 1 second from any spell. So Arcane Blast has a 2.5 second cast time. If you have 100% haste then Arcane Blasts new cast time will be 1.5 second. So the maximum haste you want as an arcane mage is 150% (4950) because 150% haste will remove 1.5 seconds off of Arcane Blast which will make the cast time exactly 1 second. The Global Cool Down (GCD) in WoW is 1.5 seconds and with at least 50% (1650) the GCD is lowered to 1 second. 1 second is the shortest that the GCD will go. So you can never cast any spell faster than 1 second.
An Arcane Mage can get 150% (4950) haste by having these buffs all at the same time.
30% Heroism/Bloodlust
20% Icy Veins
12% 2xT10 set bonus on proc
6% Netherwind Presence (Arcane Talent Points)
35% Haste rating from gear (1147)
Equals 150% haste
Now if you do the math and add all of these percentages up you might say “Hey, this only equals 103% haste.” Well thats the tricky part. Blizzard does not simply add these percentages together. Blizzard has an algebraic formula that adds the haste bonus percentages in a certain way. If you are interested in the mathematical formula, please refer to these links below.

Also there is a great website that calculates all of this for you and bypasses all of the mathematical mumbo jumbo and is really easy to use. PLEASE CHECK OUT THIS SITE!

Well I hope this helps you guys when determining how much haste you actually need. Also if you dont have 1147 haste rating from your gear, you can always use a Potion of Speed which increases your haste rating by 500 for 15 seconds. So therefore you would only need 647 haste rating from your gear.
And to top it all off, there are many other things that will increase your haste rating either from raid buffs or some other way. So if you see that your haste rating is going above 150%, then that means you are waisting excess haste. At that point I would just not use Icy Veins durning Heroism/Bloodlust.

would you wana have to cast 10 spells to get the full effect of a trinket (and it will only be 30 or so SP higher then ROTD (reign) ) or would you rather have a consit 125ish sp bonus with 1-2k instant dmg about every 3 spell casts? if you ask me i would rather not have to cast 10 spells to gain the full affect of the trinket. and that is why reign>spyglass
Friday 18, 2009
Doesn’t this leave you far from being hit capped, huh?
Correct me if im wrong.
Friday 18, 2009
hit cap is 17%. if your arcane you get 6% from talents. so you will only need to come up with 11%. add a boomkin or a shadow priest in there and thats another 3% hit so now need 8% hit. with this gear, hit talents, and the boomkin/shadow priest hit buff. you will be 39 points over hit raiting for arcane spells.
now if your fire then yes, it will leave you far from hit cap. but fire mages are a thing in the past now.
Friday 18, 2009
Yeah true, and this gear wouldnt even be so good for a fire mage, i quess. Totally forgot to calculate raid buffs :/
Friday 18, 2009
I know a fire mage that had the world top dps for 25man HM …
Their somewhat OP now. It’d be nice to see a Fire Spec List
Friday 18, 2009
Actually, the top Mage DPS in ICC Heroics is…you guessed it, a Fire Mage. Fire Mages are not a thing of the past. You can actually boost your sustainable DPS switching to Fire and knowing a CORRECT way to prioritize your spells.
Friday 18, 2009
So apprently you you forgot what is being talked about in here PRE HARD MOD E icc. now if you wana talk about what the best spec/gear is for Hard mode icc then do it in a HARD MODE Fourm. not in a Pre Hard Mode icc fourm
Friday 18, 2009
This was made right after icc was launched, fire wasn’t buffed back then. Also this gear is missing alot of hit and its pre heroic mode – so kinda outofdated
